34 Days

That's right, people, 34 DAYS until we are on our way to Tampa to meet Alicia's family and then off to TEXAS!! Today is also momentous, as it is ONE MONTH until school is out for break! Oh man, the countdown is on!

The Tiger Bus is getting quite a reputation. Some high school seniors are going to break it in for us and take it to their high school prom. Frenship High School's mascot is the tiger and their colors are yellow and blue, so they are pumped about the bus!

The trip is going to rock and I simply cannot wait. You girls better be learning the lyrics to the songs on the Texas Country CD I gave ya'll, as there will be a test. The loser will sing karaoke at Pete's Piano Bar!!

Calendar

Here is our Calendar for the trip in May. Check it out and hopefully you can meet up with us along the way! I included our test schedule so you can see just why we are looking forward to the break!! Hope to see you on the Bus!

The Plan

Texas here we come! Some fabulous girls that I have met while in Physician Assistant School and myself are going to Texas in May for the annual AAPA conference. This year it just so happens to be in San Antonio, so we are off to visit Texas! Last weekend, some of the students competed in Florida's PA Student Challenge Bowl and got second place. The first place team was actually a team of second year students, so our school REALLY got first place among first years. They rock! The reason I mention this is because there will be another challenge bowl they are hoping to have the opportunity to compete in during the AAPA conference in San Antonio. I sure hope they get in (you have to be one of the first 50 emailers on a specific day to get accepted) so we can go cheer them on as they compete against students nationwide! The conference info can be found on the AAPA's website: http://www.aapa.org/annual-conf/sanan08/index.php

So the conference is what got this whole thing started. Then my dad bought this charter bus with TIGERS painted on the outside, and we decided what better to travel Texas in? Hence the name "Tiger Tour of Texas." T3 for short!

We will be going to my hometown of Lubbock first, then to Dallas, Austin, New Braunfels and last San Antonio. What a blast! We are staying with Alicia's family before we leave out, and I am so excited about meeting her family! My parents, sister and husband are going with us. It will be great.

The girls will get to see the "Great Plains" and all its flat glory. Maybe we'll hit up the Blue Light or Wild West in Lubbock. Did ya'll know Buddy Holly was born in Lubbock? Then we'll go to the stockyards in Fort Worth. We'll definitely have to go buy us some junk at Sam Moon! Mary Beth just got engaged, so she needs to go dress looking in Dallas! Next we'll do Austin and 6th Street. The girls should love all they will see there. Maybe Leslie Cochran or Kinky Friedman will make an appearance!!! Then off to New Braunfels we shall go! We will camp out and float that river like we own it. Good times on the river. Cross Canadian may be playing. That would be great! And then to our final destination... San Antonio. Alicia is pumped about the drive thru safari and Dick's. I can't wait to go to a Piano Bar! This should be one heck of a time!

Oh and there will be cowboy boots and hats worn. All of which will have rhinestones. That is only appropriate. The Tiger Tour of Texas is coming to a city near you, so get on board!!!
